Who we are

Audio Anal is made by Leave Only What Matters Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17231249. Registered office: 17 Ethelbert Crescent, Margate, CT9 2DY. We are the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us at hello@audioanal.com.

Your music stays on your Mac

Analysis, verdicts, spectrograms and healing are all computed locally on your Mac. Your audio files, file names, library contents and listening habits are never uploaded, fingerprinted or shared. The app needs no account.

The app goes online for two things only, both to audioanal.com. When you activate or re-check a licence it sends the email and licence key you entered, a one-way hash of your Mac’s hardware identifier (so we can honour the two-Mac limit; the identifier itself never leaves your Mac) and the app version. Once a day it checks for updates, sending only the app version. Nothing about your music is ever included. An activated licence keeps working offline and is never removed because a connection failed.

Buying a licence

Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach us. We receive your email address and the order details so we can deliver your licence and support you, and we keep order records as the law requires for tax and accounting.

Your licence record is kept in our Stripe account: the email you bought with, the key’s ID, and the hashed IDs of the Macs it is active on. We use it only to check activations, handle refunds and resend a lost key.

Who else handles your data

We use a small number of processors, each only for its job: Stripe (payments and the licence record), Resend (sending your licence and receipt emails) and Vercel (hosting this website and the licence server). Google and Meta receive data only if you allow analytics cookies, as described below.

Cookies and analytics on this website

This website sets no non-essential cookies unless you allow them. If you accept the cookie banner, we load Google Analytics, Google Ads and the Meta Pixel to measure where visitors come from, whether our advertising works, and to show relevant ads to people who have visited this site (retargeting). If you decline, none of these load and no tracking cookies are set.

You can change your choice at any time:

The in-browser file check

The homepage lets you drop an audio file onto the page for a quick spectral check. The file is decoded and analysed entirely in your browser using the Web Audio API. It is never uploaded, stored or transmitted, and nothing about it (not even the file name) leaves your machine. Closing the result discards everything.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us what data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to how we process it. Write to hello@audioanal.com. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).
